  • A profound knowledge of European/European Commission transport policy is based on Bjarne Mathiesen's more than 13 years of experience with seaport strategy development work as board member of international organizations, including European Sea Ports Organization, ESPO.

 

  • Detailed experience from strategic planning and implementation of container terminals, Ro-Ro terminals, dry bulk terminals, ferry terminals and cruise terminals.

 

  • Wide spread personal network to seaport managers in Europe. Frequently moderating or speaking at international maritime transport conferences.

Construction of new container terminal in 2 phases (completed in 2001and 2007). Budget EUR 200 million. As CEO responsible for all matters – planning, financing, procurement and implementation of port works and facilities. 2000-2007

Marine Integration Project. Total Contract Value EUR 25 mill.

Motorways of Sea project involving the ports of Aarhus, Gothenburg and Tallinn.

Planning and execution of port hinterland infrastructure (roads, tunnels, railways). ICT component provide Share-Point based access to port information for ports around the Baltic Sea. Responsible for application for funding, Member of Steering Committee for all project activities and project manager for Marine Integration Project component.
